A Montana native Mr. Cody recently moved to Nebraska and will begin his first year as Superintendent of Schools for the Minatare Public School System. This year will begin also his 20th year in Education. He previously was a Business/Math/Speech teacher at both the secondary and college levels of education. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Montana College, now called Montana State University-Billings in 1991. He received his Masters of Educational Leadership degree in 2005 from the University of Montana in Missoula and is currently working on his superintendent endorsement for Nebraska from the Nebraska Department of Education in Lincoln.
This will be his 6th year in administration and 4th year as a superintendent. Prior to coming to Minatare he was superintendent, teacher and school board member in his home town of Wolf Point on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in the northeast corner of the state of Montana.
Mr. Cody's wife, Susan, is a Special Education Paraprofessional and will be seeking employment after she secures her certification in Nebraska. Mr. Cody has two children, a son and a daughter who live in Greeley, Colorado and has two grandsons. His wife, Susan, has two daughters, a granddaughter and her parents who all live in Lincoln. Mr. Cody himself is the oldest of ten children who live in various parts of the country and of whom four other siblings were and are educators.
Mr. Cody believes that all students can realize their potential given a chance to learn and a willingness to accept challenges presented to them by their teachers. He loves what he does and is in education because of the students. He is always willing to help a student when asked and says that "there is no such thing as a stupid question for those who wish to learn". He looks forward to working with the staff and students of Minatare and hopes to learn himself from them.
